About this activity

A great alternative for those who don't like traveling by bus. A trip to Akamas National Park will start with a visit of Paphos higlights Shipwreck Edro and Sea caves.The route of the trip leads through the most interesting places on the Akamas Peninsula and is sure to delight nature lovers and thrill seekers.. The program includes a walk in the natural Avakas Gorge and a visit to Lara Beach, which is a nesting ground for sea turtles.Almost all geological formations of Cyprus - valleys, caves, paths and canyons are represented in the Akamas reserve.We will then head towards the natural pool, surrounded with greenery – Baths of Aphrodite ( free time for lunch ) And tour will be finished in Local winery with vine tasting

Avakas Gorge
40 min - A rocky path between rugged mountain boulders The route through the gorge is characterised by thick vegetation and a particularly attractive, shady and moist environment. While hiking you can study the indigenous plants: lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus), Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicea), terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus), thorny broom (Calycotome villosa), common smilax (Smilax aspera), oleander (Nerium oleander), storax (Styrax officinalis), and the endemic endangered Akamas centaury (Centaurea akamantis). The main species of fauna found in the area are: Mammals: Fox, hare, hedgehog. Birds: Cyprus wheatear (endemic), Cyprus warbler (endemic), scops owl (endemic), partridge, little owl, kestrel, wild pigeon. Reptiles: Stellion lizard. Amphibians: Marsh frog, iridescent frog, tree frog.

Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station
30 min - On a secluded beach away from hotels, shops, and any public facilities, the tiny wooden Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station helps baby turtles hatch and head for the sea. Sometimes during hatching season, there will be water tanks with tiny sea turtles inside that have just come out of their eggs at the station. At other times, you'll encounter iron cages and signs scattered along the beach warning of turtle nests buried in the sand underneath. Cages protect them from predators such as birds and foxes.

Well done!

This was a perfect tour to get a taste of the “must do” in the area. Our guide, Kostas was very knowledgeable and had the best music mix to keep everyone upbeat and happy. You don’t go all the way in the Gorge due to time, but it gives you still a beautiful view of the beginning. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re short on time and just want to take the back seat. It was lovely just driving around the area. The winery was a perfect end to relax before departure. Tour wasn’t too strenuous, just some walking.

Loads of Fun!

I had a great time on this trip! I really enjoyed the nice mix of jeep driving and exploring the sites. I got a ton of great photos. I was very thankful that the company was still open during the low/off season (mid-November) and it was a great group of folks on the tour. There was a mix-up in payment and what was advertised vs. what we did, but the company promptly rectified it! I was very impressed with the responsiveness and customer service. I definitely recommend this trip, as you are able to see a lot in a short amount of time and go to places not accessible by public transit or by a regular car.

AMAZING!

Amazing sight view. Best driver Pierre hes verry fun, telling jokes, making amazing stop for view to take pictures. A lot of beatifull stops and adrenaline driving on mountains roads. Would reccomend this trip to anyone. You cant leave Cyprus wihout trying the tour!!
